Fresno, California, 2089. The Marcello Candy Company is a confectionary empire that has made a fortune selling heavily addictive pharmaceutical sweets to the public. As the company’s youngest heirs, Vittoria and Giovanni Marcello have had the luxury of indulging in endless fleeting fancies while riding comfortably on the coattails of their family’s success.
However, when their knack for being nothing but unambitious failures poses too great a risk of tarnishing the Marcello name during a pivotal moment for the company, the siblings find themselves disinherited, disowned, and evicted. Char Luerlock is an Arab-American author of queer genre fiction. His debut novel, Waxed and Feathered, is the culmination of roughly 7 years of work, and was completed concurrently alongside the obtaining of his Associates in English from College of the Sequoias in 2018, his Bachelors in English from UCLA in 2020, and completing his graduate program in 2024.
Born in Seattle and living up and down the West Coast (best coast) up to and including Alaska, he currently happily resides in Los Angeles with his partner and two cats. He is a lifelong member of the alternative music and nightlife/club scene, predominantly within the goth and rivethead subcultures, which provide ample inspiration for the content of his works, alongside his love of transcendentalism, classic gothic literature, existentialism, and cult fiction.
